The federal government will postpone until April 10 visa requirement for tourists from the United States, Australia and Canada. The measure was published in an additional edition of Official Journal of the Union this Thursday 4.

This is the second time that the visa requirement has been postponed. The initial date was October 1, 2023, then was postponed to January 10, 2024. The relaxation of the visa requirement was adopted in 2019, by then-President Jair Bolsonaro (PL).

“The extension aims to complete the process of implementing the electronic visa system, which will make the granting of visas more convenient and faster. Based on the principle of reciprocity, visas are granted for a period of up to 10 years and with multiple entries,” the government said in a press release.
