Jean Pierre joins a professional club and will not play for Bom Jesus in the Regional

Midfielder Jean Pyerre, formerly of Grêmio, will return to professional football. The 25-year-old athlete has signed with the Vancouver Whitecaps and will compete in Major League Soccer (MLS), the United States league. He is due to travel later this week to sign the bond with the Canadian club. The announcement comes four days after the player was announced as a reinforcement for FC Bom Jesus, from Santa Cruz do Sul, for the Vale do Rio Pardo Regional Amateur Football Championship, which begins in September of this year.

Marcieli Fernandes, president of Futebol Clube Bom Jesus, explained that the management are aware of the possibility of the midfielder being hired by another professional team. “As we are an amateur football team, we do not have the means to formalize this kind of contract. So there was this verbal agreement signed between the parties, that he would come and play with us according to his availability and his use for the team. And yes, if he had another opportunity in the professional world, he would be free to go and sign,” he said.

The president also assessed the impact of the athlete’s announcement and noted that other big names are already being surveyed. “For us it was very positive and I believe for him too, due to the great visibility given in the media. We are now continuing to find a person to replace him. We already have a few names, including former professionals “, he underlines.

Trained in the basic categories of Grêmio, Jean Pyerre has been absent from the lawns since the end of last year, after passing through Avaí. He played 164 professional games for Grêmio and Avaí, scoring 23 goals, and was part of the group that won the 2019, 2020 and 2021 Campeonato Gaúcho titles for Tricolor.
