The cold snap in the United States has already killed more than 40

The number of deaths caused by Polar cold wave hits the United States
since last week.

According to figures from the American press, at least 27 deaths have occurred in the state of New York, one of the most affected by blizzards.

Canada, meanwhile, already has four deaths. Most of the deaths occurred as a result of traffic accidents on icy streets and roads.

There are also reports of people freezing to death in their cars due to extreme temperatures.

The US Weather Service says Storm “Elliot” is a “historic event” because, in addition to high negative temperatures, the volume of the cold front coming from the Arctic is surprising and extends from the border with Canada, in the North , to the border with Mexico, in the South, reaching the country from end to end.

The Arctic storm wreaked havoc on US airports over Christmas weekend, with thousands of flights canceled and millions without power.
