The free event ‘Curta a UFPE’ offers concerts, sports activities and fairs and children’s programs on weekends | What to do in Recife

The Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE) promotes, Saturday (25) and Sunday (26), the free event “Enjoy UFPE”, which offers a cultural, sports and leisure program at the Campus Recife, in the western area of the capital. The project also includes four fairs, which take place simultaneously.

The event is free and open to the public, and has activities concentrated in three poles. Are they:

  • Acoustic shell;
  • Near the University Club;
  • On the main avenue of the UFPE, which will be partially closed to car traffic.

On Saturdays, from 3 p.m., at Concha Acústica, the Frevo Experimental Orchestra of the UFPE, Afoxé Oyá Alaxé, the reggae group N’Zambi and, to close the first day, the singer Gabi do Carmo, with the show Afronambuco.

On Sundays the attractions start at 2pm and include the children’s audience, bringing Cia Brincantes from Circo and a presentation by Fada Magrinha. The group Harmonie Musik UFPE and the Tribo Canindé de Recife, living heritage of Pernambuco, will also perform.

Both days, between 6 a.m. and 12 p.m., indoor football, swimming, athletics, cycling, baseball, ballroom dancing, judo, karate, crossfit, basketball, petanque, chess, slackline, beach volleyball, capoeira, dodgeball, among others.

The event will also feature, throughout the weekend, four fairs, which will operate simultaneously:

  • Black Women’s Fair;
  • The Pernambuco Women’s Cancer Network bazaar;
  • The Umba Fair of Pretos Negócios;
  • Fair for the sale of food products by the Community of Arruado do Engenho Velho.

  • 4 p.m. – skinny fairy
